Kristian Thorborg is a Professor at Copenhagen University from Denmark, and a Specialist in Sportsphysiotherapy, with expertise in the assessment and management of patients with hip and groin pain. He did his Masters in Sportsphysiotherapy at Melbourne University in 2003, and defended his Ph.D. concerning “Clinical Outcome Measures in Physically Active Individuals with Hip and Groin Pain” in 2011, from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Copenhagen University. Kristian Thorborg has done consultancy in several professional football clubs. Kristian Thorborg has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored more than 20 book chapters. He has been lecturing at the Copenhagen University since 2009, and an invited speaker at national and international conferences.
My main research areas are within prevention and rehabilitation of sports and orthopedic injuries, with a special focus on hip, knee and shoulder problems.
Currently we are running several projects within the treatment and prevention of hip, groin and knee injuries in the adolescent and young physically active population, as well as running a large RTC on optimizing rehabilitation in patients with shoulder impingement.
