Focus
The focus is on hospitalized patients with respiratory diseases and pulmonary complications. Our primary goal is the development and implementation of effective management and treatment strategies tailored to patients' specific respiratory symptoms (e.g., atelectasis, hypoxia, airway secretion, dyspnea). These initiatives are designed to enhance patient outcomes by preventing complications, promoting early recovery, and ensuring evidence-based, interdisciplinary approaches to patient care.
Examples of Ongoing Work
- Guideline Implementation: Adhering to and applying respiratory physiotherapy guidelines for hospitalized patients.
- Prioritizing Mobilization: Promoting mobilization as the primary approach in respiratory physiotherapy and disseminating this practice among interdisciplinary partners.
- Treatment of Atelectasis and Hypoxia: Addressing atelectasis and hypoxia (with less than 5 liters of oxygen supplementation) through extended intervals of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), combined with mobilization, and breathing exercises.
