How do I prevent infection?
- Avoid bathing in tub, swimming pool and seawater until the vaginal bleeding has stopped and/or threads have been removed.
- Avoid sexual intercourse without condom until the vaginal bleeding has stopped and/or threads have been removed.
- Use sanitary towels instead of tampons.
Pain after the operation
- The tablets you have bought at the pharmacy will be sufficient to relieve the pain in most cases.
- At the next page you can read more about the pain-relieving tablets.
- If you experience severe pain, you should see a doctor.
Bandage
If an adhesive plaster has been put on the wound you can remove it after 24 hours.

Removal of threads
If the wound has been stitched together after surgery, you will have to book an appointment with your own doctor to have the threads removed. They must be removed after 8-10 days.

After the operation
- An adult person must be with you during the first night.
- You are not allowed to drive a car the first 24 hours.
- Immediately after the operation you can consume normal food and drinks.
