​Movement laboratory.​

Our movement laboratory enables us to thoroughly exam the smallest of details of human movement, while performing everyday tasks, like walking. By combining 3D dynamic x-ray with motion capture and force sensors, we can look directly into the joint while it is in motion and estimate the forces within. This unique combination of technologies will, on longer term allow us to be extremely specific in diagnostics and treatment of painful joint diseases, e.g. Osteoarthritis.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation has sponsored the equipment in the room, and we are proud to embark on this journey alongside you.


Adora® RSA-d:

The heart of the room is our Adora RSA-d ceiling-mounted double x-ray with dynamic capabilities. The double x-ray cannons and detectors allows for synchronized imaging, which enables true 3D imaging. This gives us the best possible precisions, both in static imaging (e.g. Radiostereometric Analysis) as well as dynamic imaging. With the capability of acquiring 30 images/second during dynamic imaging, we can analyze even the smallest difference in joint motions of the patients.

Vicon® Motion Capture system:

Our Vicon Motion Capture system enables us to understand, how the entire body moves during varying situations. With up to 200 frames/second, we can very accurately record the tiniest movement of all parts of the body, e.g. during painful movements. Applications of the motion capture system goes beyond diagnostics, and can be used in every aspect of research, where quantifying movements with high accuracy is required.

AMTI® Tandem Treadmill:

Our treadmill from AMTI allows us to examine our patients and subjects while moving. The treadmill is instrumented with 2 force plates underneath the belts, which gives us important information of the load each person asserts during walking.
The treadmill can be used for uphill and downhill walking, running at faster paces, sit-to-stand and more, all while giving information of the forces used to perform the tests.
