Læge og ph.d.-studerende Izzet Altintas:
Prognostic biomarkers, clinical measurements, radiologic findings, quantitative measurements, immunological staining in patients with acute diagnosed first-time lower extremity deep venous thrombosis

Mechanisms and biomarkers for
biological aging and chronic inflammation
We aim to gain a better understanding of the cellular
mechanisms driving chronic and acute illness by studying biological aging and
chronic inflammation. Our research focuses on characterizing the changes to
immune system function with age as well as cellular senescence in acutely
hospitalized older medical patients, age-matched healthy controls, and healthy
young controls. We also aim to identify biomarkers to quantify biological aging
and chronic inflammation, and to investigate the cellular and clinical benefits
of therapeutic agents targeting these processes.
Alterations of monocyte NF-κB p65/RelA signaling in a cohort of older medical patients, age-matched controls, and healthy young adults
