Optimizing Patient Treatment

Research on optimization of patient treatments and trajectories focus on creating and implementing new and known scientific knowledge in a clinical workflow.

The research aim is the empowerment of patients, relatives and specialists to develop the optimal delivery of treatment and rehabilitation for all, including marginalized groups.

The activities extend beyond sectorial boundaries in collaboration with GPs and municipalities surrounding Amager and Hvidovre Hospital.

Research programmes investigate the possibility of optimizing e.g.:

  • Fast track and low-impact methods of surgery, such as minimally invasive and same-day surgery
  • Trajectories for acutely hospitalized elderly patients
  • Rehabilitation after illness - return to everyday life
