Ongoing studies concerning acute pancreatitis and complications to the disease.



  1. Prospective, descriptive study in cooperation with department of clinical physiology, Hvidovre University Hospital: Resting energy expenditure, body composition, pancreatic function, and physical and psychological evaluation in patients with walled-off necrosis - Astrid Naver, Sisse Rysgaard, Heidi Neumann, Linette Kofoed, Søren Møller, Inge Nordgaard-Lassen, Camilla Nøjgaard, Srdan Novovic, Palle Nordblad Schmidt.
    Status: inclusion of patients is completed, and first manuscript submitted for publication.

  2. Prospective, descriptive study in cooperation with department of clinical Microbiology, Hvidovre University Hospital and Pharmaceutic Institute, Copenhagen University: Penetration of systemic antibiotics into infected walled-off pancreatic necrosis - Mikkel Werge, Palle Nordblad Schmidt, Erik Feldager, Inge Jenny Dahl Knudsen, Bjarne Styrishave, Christian Jans, Srdan Novovic.
    Status: Inclusion of patients is completed and analyses ongoing.

  3. Prospective, descriptive study in cooperation with department physio- and ergo therapy, Hvidovre University Hospital: Pulmonary function and physical activity in patients with walled-off pancreatic necrosis - Linette Kofod, Astrid Naver, Camilla Nøjgaard, Srdan Novovic, Morten Tange
    Status: Inclusion of patients completed, data analysis initiated.

  4. Prospective, descriptive study in cooperation with Pulmonary department, Hvidovre University Hospital: Respiratory complications in the early phase of acute pancreatitis – association between functional lung capacity, diffusion capacity, and biochemical and imaging markers of lung injury - Thukirtha Celliah, Mikkel Werge, Annika Merc, Palle Nordblad Schmidt, Erik Feldager, Ejvind Frausing, Lise Lotte Gluud, Srdan Novovic.
    Status: Manuscript accepted for publication.

  6. International, prospective, randomized study: Prophylactic stenting of the pancreatic duct in necrotizing pancreatitis with disconnected tail syndrome. A prospective, randomized. multicenter trial - Trial initiated by Hvidovre Hospital (Palle Nordblad Schmidt) and Oulu University Hospital, Finland.
    Status: Manuscript submitted for per review.

  7. Prospective, explorative study in cooperation with Pharmaceutic Institute, Copenhagen University and department of Clinical Microbiology, Hvidovre University Hospital: Methods to develop tools for measuring and visualizing antibiotics in the necrotic fluids and necrotic debris in WON using high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and mass spectrometry imaging techniques - Mikkel Werge, Palle Nordblad Schmidt, Erik Feldager, Inge Jenny Dahl Knudsen, Bjarne Styrishave, Christian Jans, Srdan Novovic.
    Status: The development of methods is ongoing.
