The Gastro unit, Hvidovre University Hospital has the following qualifications:
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS-)guided, transmural drainage and necrosectomy
Endoscopic, retrograde cholangiopancreaticography (ERCP) for diagnostics and treatment of rupture of, stenosis of and fistula from the pancreatic duct, stenoses and biliary duct complications for example by transpapillary stenting
Percutaneous drainage of collections with self-expanding stents (SEMS), collections which are not available for transmural drainage
Video-assisted retroperitoneal debridement (VARD) of endoscopically not available collections – this procedure is done in cooperation with the surgical section
Interdisciplinary cooperation with local microbiologists and pharmacists to optimize the antibiotic treatment, endocrinologists to optimize the control of the blood, dietitians and nutrition, physiotherapists to optimize the training of muscles and rehabilitation during the hospital stay
Gastroenterological semi-intensive observation department (GIO) and the intensive care unit for supportive care of the patients with organ failure (mechanical ventilation, cardiovascular support, haemodialysis)
- 3 stationary bed departments for the treatment of patients with a stabile condition.
