This research project examines how patient complaints can be used as a resource to improve the quality of care and reduce health inequities. Patient complaints constitute concrete and tangible insights into patients' experiences of inadequate and inequitable admissions. By focusing on patient pathways across specialties and professions, the project aims to develop concrete, implementable improvements in healthcare delivery. The project consists of four sub-studies: 1. Interviews with front-line compliant handlers in hospital management, 2. An analysis of 1,326 patient complaints submitted to Hvidovre Hospital (2022–2024), 3. Interviews with patients who have submitted complaints and 4. A co-creation process with clinicians across specialties to develop feasible interventions. Key collaborators include Marie Nørredam, professor, AHH and KU and Morten Sodemann, professor, OUH and SDU. The project started in March 2025.
